Music On The Green Alex Wilson Jazz Trio

About The Alex Wilson Jazz Trio

Enjoy a mix of well-known jazz standards and fresh compositions, imaginatively interpreted by an ensemble of saxophone, piano and bass.

The Alex Wilson Trio are a London-based contemporary jazz group, featuring three of most exciting improvisers on the UK scene. Each in demand across London’s premier jazz venues including Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, The Vortex, The Jazz Café and others, Alex Wilson, John Jones, and Kai Craig combine the serious command over their instruments with an intense and captivating group dynamic. Their music draws on contemporary jazz composers from the European and American jazz scenes, including Kit Downes, Gerald Clayton, Craig Taborn, and others, while also touching on classical music, folk song, and contemporary electronic music.

About Music On The Green

MUSIC on the GREEN is based at Christ Church Esher directly opposite and overlooking Esher Green. Its aims are to promote a wide variety of excellent music, to present music in a fresh and engaging way, and to encourage audiences from Esher and beyond.
Our concerts take place in Christ Church at the heart of Esher – a church which boasts an outstanding pipe organ, fine grand piano acquired in 2012 with a very generous loan, and good acoustics which all contribute to making our music so enjoyable.

MUSIC on the GREEN is about making music which is accessible to, and enjoyable by, as many people as possible without it being stuffy or cheapened. This is the reason for the MUSIC on the GREEN ‘brand’ – to give the music an identity of its own.
Music is about people, emotions, history… We blend all these ingredients and seek to present our music in interesting and rewarding ways, within its own context so that it can be widely appreciated and enjoyed. Whilst having our firmest foot planted at the classical end of the spectrum, we seek to offer a rich and varied listening programme.
