My wife, Anne Elizabeth Campbell died almost exactly one
year ago, aged just 60. She had suffered for several years
from a debilitating autoimmune condition called Sjogren's
Syndrome. Whilst not the direct cause of her death, it was a
significant, contributory factor. |
|
In her memory, my daughter Emily and I are organising a
choral concert (music Anne really loved) at St Mary Oatlands,
Weybridge, 7.30pm on Saturday 24th April 2010. The programme
will include works by Byrd, Brahms, Gibbons and others,
culminating in a performance of the Faure Requiem. |
|
The choir are all professional singers drawn from
members of 'The 16', 'The Gabrieli Consort', 'Tenebrae','The
Monteverdi Choir' and both the English and Welsh National
Operas. The performance is to be conducted by David Clegg, a
world renowned counter tenor. It promises to be a wonderful
evening. |
|
Tickets are now available at £10 and £8 (student/OAP). As
Emily has been extremely generous in meeting all the costs
of the concert, all proceeds from ticket sales will go to
the British Sjogren's Syndrome Association (BSSA), the
charity which supports those who have to endure this
incurable condition. |
|
Tickets may be ordered from the Parish
Office (01932 231274; smop@talktalk.net), the BSSA (0121 455
6532; office@bssa.uk.net), and from me Graham Campbell
(01932 224744; hurstcampbells@btinternet.com). |
